BASIQs makes a game of learning sports strategy

BASIQs allows teams and coaches to teach strategy and situation awareness to young players looking to improve off the field. The game features specific situations presented visually in quiz format. Teams and leagues get customizable content, team management and player rankings.

The challenge was to visually present the content in a context recognizable to the players. We explored coaching boards, video games, and sports experiences to develop a recognizable visual language.  I designed a native mobile game using conventional sports metaphors such as fields, markings, animations and scoreboards to make the game both familiar and fun. 

Team coaches wanted a way to create content to reinforce drills and strategies covered in practice on the field.  We designed a content management system that allowed coaches the ability to create custom content for distribution to their players.
